Humboldt, IA – Humboldt County is teaming up with the Humboldt softball team to host a Coaches vs. Cancer/Strike out Cancer game on June 30 when Humboldt hosts Iowa Falls-Alden.

There will be no admission charged for the game, but instead a free-will donation to go towards Relay for Life. Survivors will be recognized at the start of the varsity game and organizers encourage the visiting Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets and fans to bring along someone who has battled or is currently battling cancer and welcome anyone to be recognized.

The organizers are asking fans to wear pink to “pink out” the stands.

Other events include:

  • A meal will be served and all proceeds will go to the Relay For Life of Humboldt County.
    • Normal concession stands are open but supper items will be done through Relay for Life.
  • A silent auction will occur during the game and bidding will close at 8:00 p.m.
  • A luminary sign can be purchased in honor or in memory of someone who lost their battle with cancer, beat cancer or is currently fighting back against it.
