Humboldt County Zoning releases public notice on building and zoning permits

Humboldt Co., IA – Humboldt County Zoning has released a public notice regarding property owners outside of the city limits of all towns in the county that they are required to submit a Building or Special Exception Use permit application for all residential, commercial and industrial zones districts.

New or altered non-residential buildings, residential homes and any additions require an approved permit before construction takes place. A fee of $100 is required for the permit. Violators of the ordinances can face penalties that include misdemeanors resulting in fines, restraining orders and possible imprisonment.

Building and Use Change permit applications can be obtained from the Humboldt Counties Auditor’s office in the Humboldt County Courthouse or they can be downloaded from the county’s website at humboldtcounty.iowa.gov.
