Humboldt softball defeats IF-A 10-0, finishes 2nd in NCC

Humboldt, IA – The Humboldt softball team defeated the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets by the score of 10-0 in five innings to clinch a second place finish in the NCC being one game back of conference champion St. Edmond. The game featured a 40 minute lightning delay in the bottom of the fourth.

In the pitcher’s circle, Reagan Lee pitched a complete game of five innings, allowing no runs on four hits. Offensively, Claire Dieleman was 3-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Lee registered a double with two RBIs. Paige Opheim was 3-3 with a home run away from the cycle, recording a single, double and a triple with two runs scored and two RBIs. Abby Armitage was 2-3 with two RBIs and Gracie Lyon had an RBI triple.

With the win, Humboldt is now 18-10 (11-3 NCC) and returns to action Monday night at Greene County.  First pitch will be at 7:00 p.m. with coverage starting at 6:50 p.m. on KHBT.
