Fort Dodge, IA – A fatal shooting took place in Fort Dodge Wednesday night, claiming the life of a teen boy.
The call was received at approximately 9:44 p.m. Wednesday of a shooting in the area of S 15th St. and 4th Ave. S in Fort Dodge. When officers arrived in the area, they located the unresponsive juvenile male with multiple gunshot wounds in the roadway. Officers began life saving efforts until medics arrived, but the juvenile male was ultimately pronounced deceased.
The victim’s name has not been released at this time, with the release of the information coming once all of the male’s next of kin have been properly notified.
Investigators are continuing to follow up on the incident and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Fort Dodge Police Department. Information may also be submitted anonymously via Crime Stoppers.
The Fort Dodge Police Department was assisted by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, the Webster County Attorney’s Office, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations, the Iowa State Patrol, The Webster County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Fort Dodge Fire Department.
