HCMH to host Make-A-Wish softball game featuring Iowa and Iowa State athletes

Humboldt, IA – Humboldt County Memorial Hospital is hosting an Iowa vs. Iowa State charity slow pitch game on Sunday, July 23 at the Humboldt High School Softball Field with all proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Humboldt County.

The slow pitch game will feature players from both Iowa and Iowa State’s football teams in an effort to raise $300,000 to guarantee one wish per year for a Humboldt County child.

Gates open at 5:00 p.m. with the cost set at $10 per person. There will be a meal available for purchase including burgers, hot dogs, chips, cookie and water as well as concessions available for snacks, pop, and candy.

Before the game which starts at 7:00 p.m., there will be a Homerun Derby Contest ($5 for 5 balls), an autograph line ($5 to get all your favorite players autographs) and a live auction (this will happen in-between innings with items such as: 4 tickets to the Iowa vs. Iowa State football game in September, bat boy or bat girl during the game, one-of-a-kind signed memorabilia from your favorite teams, etc. T-shirts are on sale for the event through July 13 and can be purchased at https://allstargame.itemorder.com/shop/home.

Players in attendance for the game are Cade McNamara (Iowa), Jay Higgins (Iowa), Cooper DeJean (Iowa), Jamison Heinz (Iowa), Luke Lachey (Iowa), Max P Llewellyn (Iowa), Xavier Nwankpa (Iowa), Aaron Graves (Iowa), Myles Purchase (Iowa State), Jaylin Noel (Iowa State), Tyler Perkins (Iowa State), Tyler Moore (Iowa State), Jace Gilbert (Iowa State), Drake Knobloch (Iowa State), Caden Matson (Iowa State), Easton Dean (Iowa State), and Jamison Patton (Iowa State).
