Dakota City, IA – The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors’ session this morning saw the Board approve a resolution for the county to apply for an Iowa Department of Transportation Traffic Safety Improvement Program grant for flashing beacons at intersections throughout the county.

The County Engineer Ben Loots and his office have identified 10 intersections through data such as fatality accidents and those with serious injury in for where the beacons would go.

The county will pay $20,000 up front with the money reimbursed by the DOT at a later date.

With the Supervisors approval, they will apply for the grant.
