(KHBT) – The Thanksgiving Day Holiday kicks off the 2023 holiday season and will feature many drivers on the roadways today and tomorrow as travelers head to their destination. Iowa State Patrol Trooper Paul Gardner tells KHBT news he wants driver to be cautious on the roadways this year.
Trooper Gardner says driving defensively is a key to safety on the roadways.
He says 46 percent of fatalities on the roadways in Iowa this year have been caused by occupants not wearing their seatbelt.
