Fort Dodge, IA – Two Fort Dodge men have been arrested on charges of First Degree Burglary earlier this morning.
The two offenders have been identified as Zachary R. Andrews, a 29‐year‐old from Fort Dodge and Blake A. Peterson, a 30‐year‐old from Fort Dodge
Both have been arrested and charged with First Degree Burglary (Class B felony) with an added charge of assault with a dangerous weapon for Andrews, which is classified as an aggravated misdemeanor.
The incident stems from Sunday, Nov. 12; at approximately 9:57 p.m., the Webster County Telecommunications Center received a call of a burglary to a residence that had just occurred. Officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department responded to the residence and their investigation on scene revealed that two male subjects forced their way into the residence, assaulted the victim, and brandished a firearm before leaving the residence.
Investigators with the criminal investigation division worked throughout the night interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence. Early this morning a search warrant was conducted at a residence in Fort Dodge and both offenders were located and taken into custody.
At this time investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division are continuing to follow up on the incident and anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to contact the Fort Dodge Police. Information may also be submitted anonymously via Crime Stoppers.
