Humboldt basketball splits at H-D/CAL, host SCC Monday

Hampton, IA – Humboldt boys’ and girls’ basketball traveled to Hampton-Dumont High School Friday for North Central Conference play, splitting the contests.

Humboldt girls’ basketball swept the season series against Hampton-Dumont-CAL with a 51-26 road win. Humboldt was led by Morgan Mann with 16 points, Paige Nelson had 13, and Ava Fischer recorded 12. For the Bulldogs, Zoe Erdman had 8. With the win, Humboldt improves to 13-4 (9-2 NCC).

Humboldt boys’ basketball fell for the second time this season against Hampton-Dumont-CAL with a 73-72 road loss. Humboldt was led by Coen Matson with 28 points on seven three-pointers and Elliot Carlson recorded 21. The Bulldogs were led by Scott Harr with 38 points and Tucker Heeren with 19. With the loss, Humboldt falls to 10-4 (7-3 NCC).

Both Humboldt basketball teams host South Central Calhoun Monday night with the girls’ tip-off at 6:00 p.m.
