Humboldt boys basketball wins double overtime thriller vs. IF-A 90-84; at Clear Lake Thursday

Humboldt, IA – Humboldt boys basketball won a double overtime thriller against Iowa Falls-Alden 90-84 Tuesday night at Humboldt High School.

After trailing 37-36 at halftime, Humboldt tied the game with an Elliot Carlson layup with three seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime. A late three-pointer in the second overtime period by Coen Matson put the game away for Humboldt.

Leading the way for the Wildcats was Evan Hatcher with 33 points, followed by Carlson with 26, and Matson who scored 20. For the Cadets, Kale Kalous led the team with 23 points, while Karson Kalous added 15, Carter Weaver registered 14, and Calvin Hutchinson added 11.

With the win, Humboldt improves to 8-2 (5-1 NCC) and faces Clear Lake on the road on Thursday.
