Humboldt, IA – Humboldt boys’ and girls’ basketball hosted South Central Calhoun Monday night and swept their doubleheader.
Humboldt girls’ basketball defeated South Central Calhoun 59-36. The game saw Humboldt shutout the Titans in the third quarter. For Humboldt, Ava Fischer led the team with 20 points on seven made three-pointers and Morgan Mann had 15. For South Central Calhoun, Breanne Patterson had 13. With the win, Humboldt improves to 14-4 (9-2 NCC).
Humboldt boys’ basketball defeated South Central Calhoun 70-62, snapping the Titans 12-game winning streak. For Humboldt, Evan Hatcher led the team with 25 points and Elliot Carlson had 21 on six made three-pointers. For SCC, Cole Higgins had 23. With the win, Humboldt improves to 11-4 (7-3 NCC).
Both basketball teams will be back in North Central Conference play Tuesday night at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows. The girls’ game tip-off is slated for 6:15 p.m.
