Dakota City, IA – A Dakota City man has been arrested in a case of sexual assault involving a minor.
According to a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, 36-year-old Garrett Oberhelman of Dakota City turned himself in to the Humboldt County Jail on Feb. 7 and was booked under a charge of second degree sexual assault, a Class B Felony.
Oberhelman’s arrest stems from a report taken on Dec. 18 of last year that a female child under the age of 12 was sexually assaulted at a residence in Dakota City. He was able to post $25,000 cash bond and was released with a future court date. No other details have been provided involving the case.
