Des Moines, IA – The second day of the 2024 State Track and Field Meet from Drake Stadium in Des Moines saw Humboldt athletes compete in five events.
The day would get started with a pair of field events for Humboldt. Elliot Carlson placed 9th in the 3A Long Jump at 21’-01.5”. Carlson missed medaling in the top 8 by half an inch to Caleb Bock of Solon with a distance of 21′-02”. Ashlynn Works wraps up her Humboldt career with a 14th place finish in the 3A Shot Put at 36’-05.5”.
In running events, Humboldt’s sprint medley team of Keegan Groat, Elliot Carlson, Jackson Dodd, and Mason Van Pelt placed 19th at 3:41.93. Mason Brown placed 23rd in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.10.
The final event of the day saw Humboldt’s 4×400 team of Jackson Dodd, Elliot Carlson, Mason Brown, and Mason Van Pelt placed 19th with a time of 3:30.43.
