Humboldt County declared disaster area, approved for FEMA assistance

Humboldt Co., IA – Humboldt County has officially been declared a federal disaster county due to the recent floods that impacted the county, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Humboldt has been approved for Individual Assistance (IA) only through FEMA for the flooding that started approximately June 17 and continued through late June and early July. FEMA will be working closely with Humboldt County EMA to begin the process of coordinating relief efforts.

The Humboldt County EMA office says that more information on the declaration and how to apply for relief will be released soon including information regarding the sign up process and how to apply.
