Fort Dodge, IA – Fort Dodge Police are investigating a shots fired incident from Wednesday night.
According to a press release by the Fort Dodge Police Department, at approximately, 7:44 p.m. Wednesday, the Webster County Telecommunications Center received a call of shots fired in the area of 14th Ave S. and S 25th St. where a caller stated they had stopped their vehicle after it had been damaged as a result of the gun shots. Officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department arrived on scene where they located a vehicle with bullet holes and a male with minor injuries as a result of glass shattering inside the vehicle. The injured person denied any medical attention and no other injuries were reported.
Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division are continuing to follow up on the incident and ask anyone with information to contact the Fort Dodge Police. Information may also be submitted anonymously via Crime Stoppers.
In a separate incident Wednesday shortly before 11 p.m., officers received a separate call for shots fired near 2nd Ave. N and N 10th St.
In that incident, a witness told police that a car had been driving south on N 10th St. and evidence showed “multiple shots had been fired” from the location. Two people from inside the car suffered minor injuries, but they were not from gunshots.
The Fort Dodge Police Department was assisted on scene by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office.
