Dakota City, IA – The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors approved the Memorandum of Understanding and 28E agreement for the School Resource Deputy Position between the schools and Humboldt County Monday morning.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and Humboldt Community schools had come to an agreement to share costs between the two entities to cover the position as the sheriff’s office would loan the officer to cover different schools in the district during the school year. The agreement started on Sept. 1 and will run indefinitely unless the schools or county wish to terminate the agreement upon a 90 day written notice.
Deputy Michael Vinsand, a graduate of Humboldt High School was named to the role last month. The sheriff’s office is also in the final phases of adding another deputy with the department.
