Humboldt, IA – The City of Humboldt introduced their new Chief of Police at Monday’s city council session.
Chief Jacob Miller was the former Chief of Police for the Albia Police Department. Chief Miller had been in the role with the Albia Police Department since July 2023 and as a police officer with the Ankeny Police Department from April 2014 through July 2023.
A 2008 graduate of Indianola High School, Chief Miller attended the University of Phoenix with a major in Criminal Justice Studies, having credits toward a bachelor’s degree. He also served with the United States Coast Guard as a Boatswains Mate 3rd Class, stationed in Duluth, Minnesota and Chatham, Massachusetts from May 2009 to August 2013.
His first official day was Monday.
