(KHBT) – A Wind Advisory is in effect for our area from 11:00 a.m. this morning through midnight.
Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 45 to 55 mph are expected for our area. The National Weather Service says the highest gusts will be over parts of north central and northeast Iowa.
The gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects including holiday decorations. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Drivers will be urged to use extra caution. For homeowners, securing outdoor objects including holiday decorations may be a good idea.
