Humboldt, IA – The Humboldt Wildcats girls’ and boys’ basketball teams split a doubleheader against the Mason City Riverhawks Saturday at Humboldt High School.
HUMBOLDT GIRLS WIN 58-47 OVER MASON CITY
The Humboldt girls’ basketball won 58-47 over Mason City in the first game of the doubleheader. Pacing Humboldt were Ava Fischer with 21 points and Morgan Mann with 19. Mason City was led by Brogan Evans and Zaria Falls with 11 points each. With the win, Humboldt improved to 4-4 overall and will host St. Edmond on Tuesday.
HUMBOLDT BOYS FALL LATE TO MASON CITY 86-75
The Humboldt boys’ basketball team fell late in the fourth quarter to Mason City 86-75 in the second game of the doubleheader. Leading Humboldt in scoring was Elliot Carlson with 31 points. Mason City was led by Marcele Whitner with 24 points. With the loss, Humboldt falls to 2-4 overall and will host unbeaten St. Edmond on Tuesday.
