Humboldt, IA – The City Council for Humboldt passed a motion to set up a special council meeting for discussion regarding the sale of the Joe Reasoner Dam.

The special council session has been scheduled for Monday, Jan 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Humboldt City Hall as the city discusses the proposition by the Humboldt County Conservation Board on selling the Reasoner Dam to the City of Humboldt. The meeting was approved 4-1 by the council on Monday, Jan. 6 with the lone dissenting vote by councilman John Sleiter.

The Joe Reasoner Dam was offered to the City of Humboldt for purchase in November at the Humboldt County Conservation Board’s monthly meeting and the City of Humboldt has 90 days from the November meeting to purchase the Reasoner Dam if they choose to do so.
