Humboldt, IA – Last Thursday, March 20 was the official start of spring and with the warmer temperatures comes an increased risk for severe weather.
As part of Severe Weather Awareness Week, the Humboldt County Law Enforcement Center (LEC) will be participating in a tornado drill on Wednesday, March 26. The drill will be held at 10 a.m. when the LEC will sound all the outdoor weather sirens in Humboldt County. The statewide Emergency Activation System (EAS) will also test their transmission signal to their partners.
If there is severe weather in the area at the scheduled time for the drill, the county will not participate in the drill and will reschedule for a later time.
Starting on Saturday, March 29, the Humboldt County LEC will begin weekly tests of the outdoor warning sirens.
