Elevated Fire Weather conditions on Monday

Humboldt, IA – The National Weather Service says our area will experience windy conditions and an Elevated Fire Danger today until 7:00 p.m.

Strong winds from the northwest at 20 to around 30 mph with gusts between 35 and 45 mph, mainly dry grasses and vegetation, and low relative humidity between 30 and 40 percent will lead to elevated fire danger today.

Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly. Unsecured outdoor objects may be blown around and smaller tree branches may break. Burning is discouraged under these conditions. Also, take care to prevent the start of accidental fires when smoking or operating vehicles around dry vegetation.
