Fort Dodge, IA – A Fort Dodge man wanted on attempted murder charges has been arrested.
The Fort Dodge Police Department says after a tip, officers with the Des Moines Police Department executed a search warrant at 1530 20th Place in Des Moines on Friday morning and arrested 41-year-old Dontay Diekman of Fort Dodge.
Diekman has been charged with 1) Attempt to Commit Murder (class B Felony), 2) Going Armed with Intent (class D Felony), and 3) Possession of Firearm as Felon (class D Felony) in connection with the Friday, March 28 shooting that took place in the overnight hours Friday at 4:06 a.m. at 1433 4th Ave. South in Fort Dodge with a man suffering a gunshot wound to the face. The injury was reported as non life-threating. A $500 reward had been offered leading for information leading to the arrest of Diekman.
Fort Dodge Police say that although an arrest has been made, the investigation is still on-going and they will not be releasing any specific details of the investigation at this time. Authorities encourage those who may have information to contact the Fort Dodge Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
