Dakota City, IA- The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and Humboldt County Board of Supervisors discussed the next steps regarding a vacancy in the department at Monday’s session at the Humboldt County Courthouse in Dakota City.
Deputy David Jones with the department submitted his letter of resignation to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office effective on Monday, April 14. Humboldt County Sheriff Dean Kruger says the department would like to start the process of filling the vacancy.
Sheriff Kruger gave an estimation on the possible wages for the vacancy.
The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution to move forward with the process of hiring a new deputy.
