Humboldt, IA – The Humboldt Wildcats boys’ track and field team has qualified three events for the 2025 Drake Relays next week at Drake Stadium.
Among the events Humboldt has qualified for include the long jump with Elliot Carlson, the high jump with Tyler Carlson, and the 4×100 meter relay with Cash McIntire, Chase Flaherty, Elliot Carlson, and Mason Van Pelt.
Elliot Carlson’s best long jump this year of 22′ 4.5″ was recorded on Monday, April 14 at the 2025 Dodger Relays in Fort Dodge. The distance is currently the fourth-best in Class 3A. Carlson will be competing at 4 p.m. on Thursday at Drake.
Tyler Carlson’s best high jump this year of 6’4″ was recorded on Tuesday, April 8 at 2025 Umstead Relays in Eagle Grove. The distance is currently tied for the ninth-best in Class 3A. Carlson will be competing at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at Drake.
The 4×100 meter relay team’s best time this year of 44.34was recorded on Monday, April 14 at the 2025 Dodger Relays in Fort Dodge. The time is currently the 34th best in Class 3A. The team of Cash McIntire, Chase Flaherty, Elliot Carlson, and Mason Van Pelt will be competing Saturday at 10:12 a.m.
The 2025 Drake Relays, the 115th edition, will be held from April 23-26 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
