Iowa Falls-Alden outlasts Humboldt girls’ soccer 3-1 on Monday

Iowa Falls, IA – The Humboldt girls’ soccer team opened North Central Conference (NCC) play with a 3-1 loss to Iowa Falls-Alden at Cadet Field Monday night.

The match was tied at a goal apiece at the end of the first half, with Iowa Falls-Alden scoring two unanswered goals in the second half to pull away from Humboldt. Iowa Falls-Alden was led by Kyli Koenigsfeld, Adessa Gillespie, and Grace Hartford, all of whom recorded a goal each. For Humboldt, Elsie Hubbell scored the lone goal for the Wildcats in the match.

With the loss, Humboldt fell to 0-2 (0-1 NCC) and will host Wright County Soccer, the conglomerate of Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, Eagle Grove, and Belmond-Klemme, from the Humboldt High School Soccer Field on Thursday. The match will begin at 5:00 p.m.
