Humboldt, IA – A two-vehicle accident in Humboldt left both vehicles totaled Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 2:45 p.m., a 2007 Chevrolet Impala was traveling southbound on 12th St. N. at the intersection of 6th Ave. N. and failed to yield at a stop sign, striking a 2007 Ford F150.
According to the accident report, the driver of the Chevrolet Impala stated to deputies on scene that the driver of the Ford F150 was traveling at an excessive speed. Deputies with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office told the driver of the Impala that the cause of the accident was not yielding to the stop sign. Both vehicles were deemed totaled in the report. A stop sign and a TV dish were also damaged according to the report.
The driver of the 2007 Chevrolet Impala, 71-year-old Joan Craig of Humboldt, was cited for failure to obey the stop sign.
