Humboldt, IA – An Algona man with active warrants in three counties was apprehended in Humboldt on Friday.
24-year-old Zaden Moe was arrested at 12:30 p.m. Friday after officers with the Humboldt Police Department and deputies with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office located Moe residing at a residence in Humboldt.
After confirming that Moe had active warrants out of Story County (probation violation – control of a firearm by a domestic abuse offender), Kossuth County (five mittimus warrants for violation of no-contact orders), and Black Hawk County (failure to appear on probation violations related to domestic assault), officers approached the residence. Moe fled through a window and attempted to escape on foot. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s office deployed their K9 Rooster who apprehended Moe, allowing officers to take him into custody safely.
During the arrest, pill bottles containing controlled substances were recovered. Officers also received information about multiple assaults involving Moe the previous evening.
After going through a medical evaluation, Moe was transported to the Humboldt County Jail. He now faces new charges in Humboldt County which include 1) interference with official acts causing bodily injury, 2) possession of methamphetamine, 3) possession of marijuana, 4) two counts of assault causing injury, and 5) false imprisonment.
Assisting on the incident were both the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and the Humboldt Police Department.
