Humboldt, IA – A single vehicle rollover crash west of Humboldt at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday resulted in two non-life-threatening injuries.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s office crash report says an unlicensed 17-year-old admitted to operating a 2011 Kia Soul Sport erratically southbound in the 2200 mile of Georgia Ave. on a gravel road. Along with the underage driver’s admission, witnesses stated that the driver was intentionally spinning the tires of the vehicle and fishtailing on the road, eventually losing control where the vehicle entered the west ditch and rolled over onto the driver’s side of the vehicle.
The driver and a passenger in the vehicle both complained of injuries and were transported to Humboldt County Memorial Hospital by the Humboldt Ambulance for treatment.
The underage driver was cited for not having a driver’s license and failure to maintain control. The passenger in the vehicle was cited for allowing an unauthorized person to drive.
