Humboldt, IA – The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office says another scam is targeting residents in Humboldt County.
The most recent scamming attempt features a text stating that recipients have an outstanding traffic ticket that you need to pay to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in reference to avoid penalties within the Iowa administrative code.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office says the message is a scam in an attempt to collect your personal information. The agency says to not click the link provided in the text, do not provide any information and there is no need to call your local DMV.
