Missing Fort Dodge teen found dead east of Fort Dodge

A Fort Dodge teen who was reported missing as a runaway on Monday has been found dead in a body of water east of Fort Dodge.

The Fort Dodge Police Department had been searching to locate 16-year-old Oliver Brockbank since Monday. The agency in a press release on Monday said his family reported him missing Monday, after he was last seen at his residence Sunday night.

Tuesday morning, Fort Dodge Police stated in a news release that Brockbank was found deceased Monday in a body of water southeast of 200th St.  and Quail Ave. on the edge of Fort Dodge. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources and the Story County Dive Team assisted in recovering his remains.

Police say they have found no indication of foul play linked to Brockbank’s death.

The Fort Dodge Fire Department, the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa State Patrol, Webster County Emergency Management, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, the Story County Dive Team, and the Story County Drone Team all assisted in the search.
