Fort Dodge, IA – Fort Dodge Police have opened a homicide investigation after a deceased male was discovered outside an apartment building early this morning with an apparent gunshot wound.
According to a press release, a call was received at 1:04 a.m. Tuesday by the Webster County Telecommunications Center regarding a reported gunshot in the area of 524 N 28th Street in Fort Dodge. The name of the deceased male is being withheld by the Fort Dodge Police Department until the man’s next of kin has been notified.
The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the Fort Dodge Police Department, the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, the Webster County Attorney’s Office, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations, the Webster County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Fort Dodge Fire Department.
