Humboldt Co., IA – One person has died in a Wednesday rollover crash east of Humboldt.
According to the Iowa State Patrol crash report, at approximately 1:11 p.m. Wednesday, a 2020 Ford Edge was traveling eastbound on IA 3 when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed the center line and over corrected, entered a ditch, hit a driveway, and rolled a few times before coming to a rest.
The scene of the accident was located on IA 3 between the intersections of Quebec Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue.
The driver, identified as 83-year-old Paul Bengtson of Storm Lake, died on scene as a result of his injuries.
Assisting on scene were the Iowa State Patrol, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, the Humboldt Volunteer Fire Department, and Humboldt EMS. Jergen’s Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene.
The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
