Humboldt, IA – The 14th Annual Meals from the Heartland Event in Humboldt County returns later this month as the organization is set to hit a milestone.
The annual meal packaging event will be held on Friday, March 20th for students and Saturday March 21st for the Community at Our Saviors’ Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall and helps to distribute meals for several causes.
That is Mick Hatcher, a representative from the Team for Hungry, speaking live on-air Thursday afternoon on KHBT-FM. Alan Goche, also a representative for Team for Hungry, says they are still looking for more help for Saturday’s (March 21) community meal packaging day.
The goal this year is 130,000 meals. A major milestone for the event is expected to be surpassed this year.
Orders for T-shirts to commemorate two million meals packaged are due to Personali-Tees on their Facebook page by March 6. If you would like to help be a volunteer or donate to the event, you can contact Alan Gochee at 515-890-9116 or Jan Goche at 515-890-9117.
