One injured in Humboldt County house fire Monday, cause under investigation

Humboldt Co., IA – A house fire in Humboldt County Monday afternoon has left one person hospitalized. Fire crews responded to the scene at 2561 Penn Ave. just before 4 p.m.

Officials reported that the home was heavily damaged by flames and it is believed to be a total loss. According to Humboldt County Emergency Management Agency Director Kyle Bissell, the occupant of the home, whose identity has not been released, was transported to the hospital but is expected to be okay. Three dogs inside the house managed to escape safely.

Assisting on scene were the the Humboldt Fire Department, the Badger Fire Department, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, Humboldt County EMS and Humboldt County EMA.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
