Storm Lake, IA – The Humboldt boys’ golf team took fourth at the 2026 Tornado Boys Tournament at Buena Vista Golf Course at Lake Creek Country Club in Storm Lake Saturday.
The Wildcats finished with a team score of 310 behind tournament winner MOC-Floyd Valley with a 303, runner-up Storm Lake with a 309, and Spencer in third also with a 309. Algona was one stroke behind the Wildcats to place fifth with a team score of 311.
Individually, Humboldt’s Cade Birdsell won the tournament with a low score of a (-1) under par 71. Birdsell was the lone golfer in the tournament to shoot under par.
The Humboldt boys’ golf team will be back on the course Tuesday at the Hampton Country Club for a North Central Conference Triangular against host Hampton Dumont/CAL and Charles City. That meet will begin at 4:30 p.m.
