Humboldt, IA – Multiple search warrants were executed at three locations in Humboldt Thursday morning as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation involving local, state and federal law-enforcement agencies.
According to a news release from the Humboldt Police Department, the court-authorized search warrants were executed at approximately 8:15 a.m. Thursday, October 29.
The locations included:
- 500 block of Sixth Avenue North
- 100 block of Fifth Street North
- 100 block of Second Street North
The Humboldt Police Department was assisted by multiple agencies during the operation, including the Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Eagle Grove Police Department, Webster County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
Additional assistance came from Humboldt County Emergency Management Agency, Humboldt Fire Department and Humboldt County Memorial Hospital Ambulance Service.
Due to the number of agencies and personnel involved, residents may have noticed a significant law-enforcement and emergency-services presence in portions of Humboldt during the operation.
The Humboldt Police Department reports the search warrants were executed without a significant incident. No arrests were made at the time the warrants were executed.
Investigators collected evidence during the searches. That evidence will now be reviewed and processed, with items requiring laboratory examination to be submitted for testing.
Once that process is complete, investigators will determine what additional investigative steps or criminal charges, if any, are appropriate.
The investigation remains ongoing. The Humboldt Police Department says additional information regarding any resulting criminal charges will be released when appropriate.
The department also thanked the personnel from the assisting agencies for their cooperation and assistance during the operation.
