Minor Charged in Single Vehicle Accident, Tuesday

Humboldt, Iowa — The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office says a 16-year old Humboldt minor female was uninjured in a Tuesday crash.

Law enforcement officials say the accident occurred near 230th Street and Iowa Avenue.

The minor’s vehicle was westbound approaching the Iowa Avenue intersection when it slid into the the northwest corner of the intersection, after losing control on loose sand.

The Sheriff’s Department also believes the vehicle was going too fast around the curve.

The vehicle struck a stop sign before stopping and facing north in the ditch.

No injuries were reported at the scene.

The driver was cited for violation of instruction permit and failure to maintain control.

The passenger was also cited for permitting an unauthorized person to drive.
