Mallard, Iowa — Phil and Cathy Harris, owners of Harris Funeral Homes in Mallard, West Bend and Gilmore City have entered into an agreement with St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the diocese of Sioux City to purchase the church and fellowship hall in Mallard. The Harris Funeral Home and the Schellhammer Funeral Home before them, have owned and operated their existing facility for over sixty years.
Renovations on the new church will begin as of the possession date, which is set for July 1st, 2018.
A completion date is yet to be determined.
The fellowship hall is still available for special events if needed, according to Harris.
