Moorland, Iowa — The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has released the name of the man who was fatally shot Sunday in Moorland.
The DCI identified the deceased party as Joshua L. Ewing, 26 of Carroll, Iowa.
An autopsy is scheduled for today.
The Iowa State Trooper has also been identified as Trooper Justin Parman.
Parman was called to the area following a motorist assist, Sunday.
According to the DCI, when Parman arrived Ewing and a female where involved in a dispute. Shortly after, Ewing pointed and fired a handgun at Parman.
The investigation also revealed that Ewing fired several shots into his own vehicle prior to Parman arriving.
