Pella, Iowa — Another weekend. Another tough set of games.
Another success.
That’s been the motto of late for the Humboldt Wildcat softball team, who once again earned a couple of hard-fought victories over Boone and Belle Plaine, Friday and Saturday.
The Cats a 3-1 win over Boone on Friday afternoon in Boone, then followed that up with a 3-1 win Saturday morning over Belle Plaine.
“Boone plays in the toughest softball conference in the state” said head coach Doug Van Pelt. “They’re really, really good.”
Humboldt would fall Saturday afternoon to #2 (3A) Albia, 9-0. Humboldt, probably thinking that they may see Albia at state, threw freshman pitcher Bae Arnold over Ellie Jacobson.
Humboldt sits at 23-3 on the season and will play Pocahontas Area tonight (Tuesday) at home at 7:30.
