Clear Lake, Iowa — The Humboldt Wildcat softball team clinched a share of the crown Wednesday night.

Thursday night — well they got the whole thing.

For the third time in as many years, Doug Van Pelt’s group captured outright gold in the North Central Conference, checking off their first big milestone this summer.

The contest was really no-contest.

Making up a rained out affair, Humboldt clubbed Clear Lake 13-3 in a matinee at Clear Lake.

Kendal Clark hit her first career home run — a grand slame — to tie a neat bow around the team’s title clinching win.

Humboldt used a five-run 4th inning and a seven-run 6th to earn their 26th victory this year.

Ellie Jacobson earned the victory allowing two runs over six innings.

Humboldt will close out their regular season tonight on the road at Iowa Falls-Alden, first pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
