Names Released in Accident that Claimed One, Tuesday Afteroon

Humboldt, Iowa — The names of those involved in a two-vehicle accident near the Bode-Livermore intersection Tuesday have been released.

The Fort Dodge Messenger was the first to have the names.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the deceased party was identified as 28-year old Yessi Collazo of Algona, Iowa.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that Collazo died at the scene.

Collazo was the passenger of the southbound 2016 Ford Mustang, the ISP says. The driver, 38-year-old, Yorday Perdomo of Algona was life-flighted to the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

The semi trailer heading north-bound, which attempted to turn left onto 130th street, was driven by a 63-year-old Jerry Metzger of Whittemore, Iowa.

Assisting the Iowa State Patrol in the crash was the Humboldt and Kossuth County Sheriff’s Offices, Humboldt Fire/EMS and the Bode Fire Department.
