Humboldt, Iowa — The City of Humboldt accepted a resolution which authorized the city to sign the contract documents with Blacktop Service for the 2018 Roadway System Maintenance Project.
ISG prepared the plans and bid documents based upon areas identified by the council and confirmed with ISG the method of repairs.
Final plans were approved after a public hearing at an earlier council meeting this summer. The one — and only — bid came from Humboldt’s Blacktop Service in the amount of $327,069.70.
According to the city, the engineers estimate was $377,940.
The city admitted they budgeted $520,000 in street improvements this year, an uptick from last year and the year prior.
The resolution was passed unanimously.
