Humboldt, IA — Dawn Nelson, 58, of Humboldt was involved in a single car accident on US 169 and Lincoln Avenue early Tuesday morning.
Officer Cory Lampe responded to the wreck where Nelson was northbound on US 169 at around 5:45am when a deer came across the roadway from the nearby ditch. Nelson’s car then struck the deer, killing it on impact. The 2008 Dodge Caliber incurred major damage as the estimated cost from the report is $6,000 and the car had to be towed from the scene. Nelson was uninjured in the accident and no citations were given.
