Beaver, IA – Serious injuries suspected after a driver swerves to avoid a deer and gets turned over in a ditch and creek.

Deputy Kenneth Vorland of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office reports on the single car and animal involved incident. His report states that on Saturday, Nov. 7, Lucas Fiesth, 40, of Badger was southbound on Lone Tree Road when a deer emerged from the west. The driver swerved to avoid hitting the animal but lost control and spun out his black Chevrolet HHR. The vehicle entered the east ditch going backwards and then turned, rolled around the trees and down the steep embankment before coming to a rest in the creek below a bridge on the driver’s side.

The incident resulted in severe damages to the HHR that was towed away from the scene. Deputy Vorland reports that serious injuries were suspected and Fiesth was transported via ground EMS to Humboldt County Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
