Humboldt woman arrested for vehicle theft, burglaries

Humboldt, IA – A Humboldt woman has been arrested on multiple counts of burglary from a motor vehicle.

The information comes via a release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

During the morning of November 25, 2020, the Webster County Sheriff’s Office notified surrounding law enforcement agencies that a 2010 Ford Edge had been stolen from Duncombe during the overnight hours. 

a 11:45 am, the Humboldt Police Department received a report that a 2010 Chevy Silverado had been stolen while it was parked in the 700 block of Sumner Ave in Humboldt. An officer with the Humboldt Police Department responded and found the stolen Ford Edge parked near where the Chevy Silverado had been parked. The Humboldt Police Department and deputies with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office searched the Humboldt and Dakota City areas, but were unable to locate the stolen Chevy Silverado.

At 1:15 pm, the Humboldt County Communication Center and the Webster County Communication Center Received a report that the stolen Chevy Silverado had been spotted in the Badger area. Humboldt County Deputies responded to assist Webster County.

At 1:36 pm, a Humboldt county Deputy spotted the stolen Chevy Silverado on the north edge of Vincent. The Chevy Silverado was stopped and the driver, Jessica Webb, 34, from Humboldt was subsequently arrested by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office on Charged relating to the thefts of the Ford Edge and the Chevy Silverado. Jessica Web bonded out of the Webster County Jail on November 29, 2020.

A search of the stolen Chevy Silverado resulted in the recovery of many items and documents form various vehicles that had been parked at farm residences on Lone Tree Road and 250th St in Humboldt County. The subsequent investigation revealed these vehicles had been burglarized between 11:45 am and 1:15 pm.

On November 30, 2020, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was granted an arrest warrant for Jessica Webb on three counts of burglary from a motor vehicle, aggravated misdemeanors. The bond on the warrant was set at $6,000 cash only.

on December 10, 2020, the Webster County Sheriff’s Office located Jessica Webb in Webster County and arrested her on the outstanding Humboldt County arrest warrant. she was subsequently transferred to the Humboldt County Jail where she will await her initial appearance before the magistrate.

As in cases, defendants should be considered innocent until proven guilty in court of law.
