Belmond, IA – Humboldt’s Boys Soccer team blanked the conglomerate known as the Wright County Soccer Club consisting of the schools of Belmond-Klemme, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows and Eagle Grove 4-0 Friday night in Belmond for their second consecutive shutout win.
The Cats scored late in the first half with a goal by Carter Westre to give Humboldt a 1-0 lead at the half. The Wildcats would add to their lead with three goals in the second half with a header by Will Orness, Nolan Gustafson with another long range goal and Christhian Ramirez finding the net after an assist by Reyes Falcon to give the Cats their final score of the night. For freshman goalkeeper Karson Rubel, it was his second consecutive shutout.
With the win, Humboldt is now 4-0 on the 2023 season and is at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura on Monday.
