Webster City outlasts Humboldt boys soccer 2-1

Webster City, IA – The Humboldt Wildcats boys soccer team fell to Webster City 2-1 Thursday night, snapping their perfect start to the 2023 season and streak of 5 consecutive shutouts this season.

The Lynx would score on a penalty kick by Eduardo Perez with under 8 minutes remaining in the first half and Humboldt would give up a second goal early in the second half to be down 2 goals. The Wildcats would battle back and after a penalty kick by Christhian Ramirez would find the back of the net, the deficit was cut to one. The Wildcats would continue the relentless attack, but could not tie the match up, falling short of the Lynx.

With the loss, Humboldt falls to 7-1 (5-1 NCC).
