Humboldt outlasts Roland-Story 7-3, improve to 14-2

Humboldt, IA – Humboldt baseball faced off against non-conference foe Roland-Story, winning the ball game 7-3 Tuesday night at the Humboldt High School Baseball Field.

The Wildcats fell down early 2-0 in the first inning but would counter with a run in the second to cut the deficit to one. The third inning saw the Norsemen take a 3-1 lead before Humboldt pushed across three runs in the bottom of the third inning to take the lead for good at 4-3. Humboldt would add insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth with three runs, including a two-RBI single off the bat of Christian Lee. To end the game, there was a sensational play in right field by Trever Beach for the final out.

With the win, Humboldt baseball improves to 14-2 (7-0 NCC) and hosts conference for Hampton-Dumont-CAL at home Wednesday night. First pitch is at 7:30 p.m.
